2012 Mistletoe Marketplace Playhouse

I am super excited to announce that the 2012 Mistletoe Marketplace playhouse is well under construction!  Progress pictures will be posted over the next few weeks, so you can follow along as we go from framing to interior furnishings.

The 32nd annual Mistletoe Marketplace will be held at the Mississippi Trade Mart, November 7-10, 2012. General shopping hours are: Thursday, November 8th, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, November 9th, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, November 10th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General Admission rates are $10 for Adults, $20 for a 3-Day Pass, $5 for Children (ages 6-12) and $5 for Seniors (ages 60+).
 
The playhouse is part of the Premier Silent Auction.

The playhouse base is built on treated 4x6 skids, making it easier to move.  If you are building your own playhouse, the base should be constructed with treated lumber (don't want it to rot). It is also important to make sure the base is level and square before you move onto the next step.  I realize these aren't "pretty" pictures, but we'll get to those soon!

After framing the base and putting on the 1/2" wood sub-floor, we started framing the walls.  We used the base as our level surface to frame the walls on and then stud them up.

All four walls are up!  You can even see where the door will be in the front and one of the windows on the side.  At this point we still have a few more horizontal braces to put in, but we're getting there.  Since we have so many pictures, I'm breaking this post up.  Next you'll get to see the roof go on!
