A Tower for Play

You never know what you're going to find at an estate sale!  When I saw the add for the sale only a few blocks from my house, I couldn't resist.  As I was rummaging through household odds and ends, I noticed this peculiar structure through the window.  I mean how could you miss this giant!  Of course, my curiosity got the best of me.  My friend Kara and I went out to take a closer look, and before we knew it we were peering out the top windows into the neighbors backyards.  What  a great view!  I can only imagine the afternoons spent in this structure...what secrets were told here, what adventures planned.

What exactly would you call a structure like this?  Technically, it's not a tree house, but you do feel like a bird perched among the branches. We'll say it's a tower with a very strong fort feel.  You could easily guard your castle from here.

Oh, lesson learned:  Flip flops aren't the best for climbing towers!

  1. Hi Holly,

I just found your blog and I am so impressed. I am a architect wanna be, actually considered it as a career path but chose health care instead. I have pinned several of your playhouses to my pinterest page, "once upon a playhouse". Hope the exposure on pinterest sends you lots of customers!
