Designing With Reclaimed Materials

I sat down at my desk to design a playhouse that would be build with reclaimed materials and quickly realized the process that I have become familiar with was not getting me anywhere.  I could not sketch out an idea if I had no clue what I would be able to actually construct it with.  Within minutes I went from frustrated to I can't wait to see what I can find!  The scavenge is on!

The sleeping cabin above, designed and built by Victor Summers of  Simple Shelter Texas, was inspired by the Shinto temples of Japan.  All of the materials used were salvaged with the exception of the corrugated tin roof.  The reclaimed materials were very thoughtfully composed giving the tiny structure a rich, unique character.  Inspiring images!
