Woven Playhouse: Judith Needham
Woven architecture has always fascinated me. I remember spending cool fall days in the woods near our house attempting to build a structure similar to these. Well, similar only in that it was woven. Our skill level was definitely not as refined, and resulted in more of a lean-to woven wall than a basket like structure. Fortunately we were consumed by imagination, and oblivious to the crudeness of our creation.
Judith Needham crafts these beautiful eco-friendly willow playhouses. Their whimsical fairy tale form is fitting for almost any garden. The way the light filters through the willows strengthens the connection to the outdoors and provides a wonderful place to daydream.
